What is Timpibot?
Timpibot is the web crawler for Timpi, a decentralized search engine that maintains a distributed web index. The crawled data can also be used for AI and LLM training purposes. Timpi operates on a decentralized network of nodes that collaboratively crawl and index the web. The bot respects robots.txt directives and allows website owners to control access to their content.

How to Control Timpibot
Block Completely
To prevent Timpibot from accessing your entire website, add this to your robots.txt file:
# Block Timpibot
User-agent: Timpibot
Disallow: /
Block Specific Directories
To restrict access to certain parts of your site while allowing others:
User-agent: Timpibot
Disallow: /admin/
Disallow: /private/
Disallow: /wp-admin/
Allow: /public/
Set Crawl Delay
To slow down the crawl rate (note: not all bots respect this directive):
User-agent: Timpibot
Crawl-delay: 10
How to Verify Timpibot
Verification Method:
Check user agent string for Timpibot identifier
