So here’s a pointless one for a Saturday scroll. Remember when Google banged the drum for HTTPS everywhere? Rankings boost, security warnings in Chrome, the whole “secure by default” messaging. Most of us switched years ago. Yet if you head into Search Console today and add a page filter, the placeholder still shows: http://www.example.com/ Not https. Not even the www debate resolved. Just the old classic http://. It does not really matter for your data. You can filter URLs however you want. But it is one of those small reminders that the teams inside Google do not always keep their own tools as polished as the guidance they push onto everyone else. It is 2025. I recently bought a secondhand Palit GeForce RTX 3090 Gaming Pro 24GB GPU from CEX for £575. That’s not pocket change, especially for a used card, but the 24GB of VRAM was the big attraction. For anyone interested in local LLMs, that amount of memory is a game-changer. It provides the headroom to run open-source models comfortably and still have VRAM available for larger context windows without spilling into system RAM. In that respect the card does deliver. I’ve had an NVIDIA T600 in my HP ProDesk 400 G7 SFF PC for a couple of years now, and I’ve got to say, for what it is, it’s been a surprisingly solid little GPU. I originally got it because I needed something that would fit inside a small form factor case, and gaming GPUs were either too big and too power-hungry. The T600 seemed like a good middle ground, workstation class, low power, and still capable of a bit of everything. Why the T600? Honestly, the biggest reason was size and power.
